'Amarilla' - Debut album 1st May 2006 'Ear to the Ground' - CD EP Released 31st January 2005 - SASR#13 Fuelled by their post-graduation fears and unfulfilled rock n roll fancies, Randie Williams (guitar), Allison Veronica Esposito (drums), and Antonia Salerno (bass), started playing music together during the summer of 2001. They recruited Ann Fitzgerald (vocals) and the quartet began cultivating their powerful sound. At the end of the summer, the foursome disbanded briefly when Ann left New York for San Francisco. Randie, Antonia and Allison continued to play together, honing their skills. In October 2002, Ann returned and said let there be music. And there was music. And they called it The Vibration. Composed of the first five songs they wrote together, "Ear To The Ground" chronicles their first year as an uninhibited and independent rock quartet. Self-recorded and produced, the EP sold out in the US and was re-released on Sink and Stove Records. In the summer of 2004 'Ear To The Ground' hit the top spots of various college radio stations around the USA, and debuted on the CMJ chart at #106. The song ‘Sweet Oil’ was included on a SPIN magazine radio compilation and also appeared on a Third Story Records split 7” with Mirah (K Records.) Credit to their catching intensity, in only one year of performing The Vibration has gained a diverse fan base in and around New York. They have shared stages with the likes of The Decemberists, Rilo Kiley, Mirah, The Blow, Aloha, The Seconds, Tilly and The Wall and We Ragazzi. ‘Amarilla’ shows how far the band has come. In February ’06 the band travel even further, as they hit the UK for their debut shows outside the USA, promoting their debut album and a download only single. And you can be sure we’ll all be listening. A US tour follows in June.
